Daniel Breton, president of the enterprise Maître chez nous au 21e siècle, supports Richard Bergeron and Projet Montréal
Tuesday September 22, 2009
The leader of Projet Montréal and running candidate for mayor of Montreal, Richard Bergeron, received great support during the "A day without my car" event. Daniel Breton, a recognized environmentalist and president of Maître chez nous au 21e siècle (MCN21), has indeed expressed publicly his support to Richard Bergeron because he believes that Projet Montréal "is the only political group that understands the issues of the 21st century for Montreal".
"Like John Gomery has acknowledged the seriousness of the ethical commitment of Projet Montréal, I recognize the seriousness of the environmental commitment of this party, said Daniel Breton. Any self-respected environmentalist in Quebec recognizes how Richard Bergeron defends a vision of economic and ecological future. It's the drive of his speeches and actions. "Recalling that billions of dollars will be invested into infrastructures in Montreal in the following months and years, Mr. Breton said: "I am convinced that only Projet Montréal is able carry out these projects in a context of real sustainable development, whether it's the Turcot freeway interchange or any other projects. "
"Everybody is copying our speeches but we are the only serious party leading in sustainable development and transportation," said Mr. Bergeron. The other parties are a pale imitation of Projet Montréal and I am glad that this aspect is being recognized by a true environmentalist like Mr. Breton. "
Sophie Thiebaut, co-founder of the group Mobilisation Turcot and candidate at the borough council within the district of Saint-Henri - Petite-Bourgogne - Pointe-Saint-Charles for Projet Montréal, said that she totally agrees. "I joined Projet Montréal because of the true commitment of this party towards sustainable development, she said. I worked with Daniel Breton on the Turcot Project and I am convinced that the only party that can change the image of Montreal for the betterment of the citizens of South-West is Projet Montréal.
