Projet Montreal presents simple solutions for cleaner street
Montreal, Wednesday October 21st 2009 - Richard Bergeron, leader of Projet Montreal and candidate for mayor of Montreal, wants to clean up the streets of Montreal - as well as city hall. To do this, he will increase the number of garbage cans and recycling bins on the busiest streets of the city.
"It's simple: there are not enough garbage cans and recycling bins. It doesn't take millions of dollars and more studies, just common sense: people will not walk six blocks to find a garbage can or recycling bin."
"Over the course of Tremblay's reign at city hall, dozens of public recycling bins disappeared from the streets of Montreal, as opposed to the trend in most cities around the world" explains Mr. Bergeron. "It was clearly a bad decision and we will correct it."
